Destination Vacations - Central & South America

What to see and do in.... Central/South America?

Belize: Whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, we have the perfect combination tours for you. Allow us to present Belize with its great beauty in a variety of ways. If your specialty is adventure travel, just two hours flight from US main gateways will enable you to explore the beaches and coral reef, and enjoy the surprises Belize has in store for you.

Guatemala: the Land of Eternal Spring and the Heart of the Maya World. Whether your interests are archaeology, history, bird watching or simply relaxing on a tropical beach, Guatemala has something to offer every visitor. From the graceful colonial architecture of Antiqua and the colorful markets, such as Chichicastenango, to the great Classic Maya cities such as Tikal, Uaxactun, Ceibal and Yaxha, Guatemala is an intriguing destination.

Panama means "the place of abundant fish," but people like to say that everything is found in abundance here. And it's true, as visitors quickly discover for themselves. You'll find an abundance of wildlife in Panama's many national parks, an abundance of white sand beaches, hundreds of islands, more banks and shops than you would have dreamed possible, the Panama Canal and or course a fantastic quantity of fresh seafood.

Argentina: On Beagle Channel, surrounded by water, sky and mountains, Ushuaia calls itself the End of the World. As the closest city to Antarctica, the city is a hub for Antarctic touring and navigating the Strait of Magellan. Cruise ships dock here for a quick onshore visit. Summer is ideal for trekking, horseback riding, mountain biking, sport fishing and the most astounding tours along Cape Horn and even the Argentine Antartica. We have an eight day tour of the Southern Argentine ski resorts including stays in Bariloche and San Martin de los Andes, two of the best towns to visit in all of Argentina. This trip starts and ends in Bariloche, focuses on getting a lot of skiing in, has a special stash location outside of Villa La Angostura, and a ton of amazing views while traveling through Argentina's Seven Lakes area. Join us in the Argentine Powder Triangle this season and get to ski a beautiful part of Argentina.

Chile is a ribbon of exquisite coastline on the Pacific edge of South America. Stretching 2,826 miles, it is the longest country in the world. The majestic Andean range dominates the eastern part of Chile and marks its borders with Argentina, Bolivia and Peru.

The country’s tremendous length captures the most amazing landscapes in South America. In the north lies the driest desert on earth, with areas where rain never falls. The central regions support fine vineyards, colorful ports and world-class ski resorts. Farther south are regions of lakes, volcanoes, fjords, glaciers and millenary forests. Chile’s islands—Robinson Crusoe, Easter Island, Chiloe, and Tierra del Fuego—offer an additional serving of geographic and cultural diversity.

This rich landscape is a magnet for wine connoisseurs and lovers of the outdoors; our clients are as likely to request a wine tour as they are to book fly-fishing, skiing or kayaking excursions. Whatever the interest, Chile goes to great lengths to satisfy!

Paraguay: Why should you know about the culture of Paraguay when visiting the Iguassu Falls?
There is a curious world behind the dramatic scenery of these falls, made of native myths and legends, of music, traditions and values rooted in the obscure trails of the jungle. I like to call this world the spirit of the falls and this spirit lives in Paraguay. The World of the Guaranis and the Culture of Paraguay. When walking around the falls, it would be interesting to imagine you are putting your feet on the same ground that other people many years ago considered a sacred place. I’m talking about the Guarani natives, past inhabitants of what is now south-eastern Brazil, north-eastern Argentina and all of the Paraguayan territory. The Iguassu Falls are located in what was the heart of the Guarani world.

Peru: Things To Do In Peru. There are plenty of things to do in Peru given the diversity in ecosystems. Peru offers outdoor activities for the rugged mountaineers, the mellow beachgoers and for bird watching jungle explorers. Try some of these ideas. A few of the many reasons include a unique concentration of mountains and relatively few mountain climbers, mild weather almost all year-long and relatively easy access to remote sites. It is an ideal combination that makes Peru one of the most attractive destinations for mountaineers worldwide.

Mountain Biking is the fastest-growing sport in the country. Year-round thousands of bicyclists head down canyons and trails all over the country. Practically the entire country, with the exception of the coastal desert and the Amazon plain, is great for biking. River rafting Peru features over a dozen rivers that are more than 600 km long. The five largest rivers alone total 7,000 km within Peru. Windsurfers flock to the breezy bays of Paracas (Atenas, Mendieta and Yumaque) as well as certain areas along the north coast such as Pasamayo, El Paraíso and Medio Mundo. Sandboarding has become popular on the sand dunes near Ocucaje, Villacuri and Ica, an ideal area to take to the steep sandy slopes of the desert. Surfing is also popular in Peru although few people are aware of this fact, it was in ancient Peru, and not in Polynesia or the South Sea Islands that the first evidence was found of humans riding waves with the help of external aids, as found on textiles and pottery dating back to pre-Hispanic civilizations. Peru has beaches that are great for surfing all year round.
